.) I’m happy to say that my project is about 95% complete. I have my video mostly finished and I just need to make a few small corrections to it before posting it on my webpage. I purchased a domain name and built a website for my video to be launched on. You can view my website at: www.choices2.org. The video will be posted on this page soon. I still may make a few small changes to the webpage but its mostly completed. I still need to update my resume and link it to my page.
.) Susan Tennant is my mentor and I’ve been meeting with her every week this semester and we also talk a lot through emails. I show her my progress each week and she provides me with feedback and ideas about what I need to do next or what needs to be fixed.
.) I originally was going to have a live event where I would launch the video to the public and then have professionals in the field be available for questions. As I continued to work on this aspect of the production it soon became apparent that this, although a cool idea, was not practical nor very plausible with just me working on it. I decided to focus my attention on making the video the best it could be and I also decided to build a webpage where I could launch the video to the public.
.) All I need to do now is make some corrections to the video and then export it for the web. The video needs to be posted on my webpage along with my updated resume. I have a link from the Choices page to my personal portfolio page and I was thinking that I may want to add a bit more to my portfolio as well. I also need to test my video in the large room in the IT building before December 9th to be sure that it plays correctly. Working on my capstone night presentation would be a good idea as well.
.) Producing this piece was a great experience. Working with so many people and different organizations really made it challenging at times but through hard work I believe we were able to produce a strong piece. Even if we’re just able to help a single young adult make better choices or think about their actions before doing them than I consider this endeavor a success.
